Neal Lemlein — President, Around the Bend Media
Neal Lemlein began his film marketing career with the advertising agency, Doyle Dane Bernbach, where his first project was ”Star Wars.” As Senior Vice President , Marketing and Media Services, at Twentieth Century Fox, he was responsible for the development and execution of all of the studio’s theatrical media-marketing campaigns. There, he developed index systems used throughout the industry to link advertising buys to audience profiles.
Signed by D’arcy Masius Benton and Bowles to found the agency’s entertainment division, he brought Paramount Pictures and NBC Television into the fold, generating billings of more than $100 million in less than twelve months. As Executive Vice President of Universal Studios Hollywood, he led six departments and a team of 75 employees in revitalizing the theme park’s image, growing its market share in the face of fierce competition. In the cable television field, he headed production and programming, as well as marketing, for the New York Times’ innovative “Popcorn Channel” joint-venture.
With Around the Bend Media, Inc., he is putting that depth of experience and expertise to work to bring exceptional properties to the screen. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Lemlein has taught the graduate course, “Strategic Campaign Planning” at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business and serves as a popular event speaker with 4th Dimension Management.
Michael Gray — Senior Vice President, Creative Affairs
Michael A. Gray has served as world-wide publicity director and European production marketing director of United Artists Pictures and as vice president, public relations, of Universal Studios Hollywood. With his own company, MAGI, he created publicity and promotion campaigns for such films as "Star Wars," "Platoon," "E.T." and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and produced the electronic press kits for more than eighty major movies including "Silence of the Lambs," "The Addams Family," "Mississippi Burning" and "Philadelphia."
He won "Telly" awards for his production of "Showscantastic," a sixty screen multi-media look at advanced motion picture technology, and as the writer of the post-9/11 video series, "Turnout for Life," mandated by law as required viewing by all New York State firefighters.A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Gray wrote and produced the satiric short, "Chuck Roast," for the Academy's public relations branch.
Patrick Schreifels — Vice President, Interactive Services
Patrick Schreifels has delivered cutting-edge workflow solutions to communications challenges for more than 15 years. In a pre-Internet era he designed a 'distributed graphics system' for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Chicago and its content providers. This distribution system automatically tied together digital photography, page layout, proofing, and dramatically changed time-to-market for Sears' catalog production.
Patrick has also developed award-winning consumer software for Miramar Systems, introducing a PC migration solution used by service providers and end-users alike. Desktop DNA Professional was awarded PC Magazine's Editor's Choice Award for three successive years, until that technology was acquired.
At Sourcemine.com, where he first met Around the Bend president Neal Lemlein, Patrick focused on collaborative web-based solutions for the entertainment industry. Since that time he continues to push the boundaries web-based workflow solutions, with a focus on usability and end-user experience.
Marla K. Goldstein — Vice President, Media Strategy and Planning
Marla K. Goldstein brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her responsibility for ATBM's media services. She began her advertising career with Young and Rubicam in New York, working on the General Foods account, then moved to Doyle Dane Bernbach/Los Angeles, where her clients included CBS Entertainment.
Named Senior Director, Media Planning for NBC Entertainment, she was a key member of the team that led the network from last position to Number One, branding NBC as "Must See TV." Respected for her skill at managing multi-million dollar advertising budgets, she added NBC News and NBC Sports to her responsibilities, supervised the media planning for successive Olympics campaigns and contributed to the successful launch of MSNBC in 1996.
Returning to the agency side as Vice President, Group Media Director at MediaVest, she managed media planning and buying for Paramount Home Entertainment. At MediaVest, she supervised the hugely successful home video launches of scores of Paramount hits from "Jimmy Neutron" to "Indiana Jones."
Marla is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Jaye Parrish — Vice President, Creative Services
Coming from a fine arts background in painting, Jaye Parrish served as designer, art and creative director for several companies in the New Orleans area before opening her own studio, J3 Design, in 2002. In the late 1990’s, she was a founding creator and sole designer for Cast & Crew magazine, a film publication based out of Louisiana, before going on to work on two other start up magazines. As principal of J3 Design, she has built a reputation for designing edgy, award-winning advertisements, branding campaigns, invitations, websites, digital and print collateral. Her clients have included non-profit organizations such as the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund, the Summer Bridge Breakthrough program and AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists); world renowned photographer Herman Leonard; Union Passenger Terminal in New Orleans; Sundance Cinemas; luxury boutique hotels including the Ritz Carlton-Maison Orleans, International House, and Loft 523; residential properties such as Ekistic’s Paragon, Lengsfield and Rice Mill Lofts; restaurants such as Meson 923 and Emeril’s collection of restaurants nationwide; and schools including Tulane University and Isidore Newman School.
Her work has won numerous ADDYs and AIGA design awards and has been documented both locally and nationally in publications such as How Magazine. Her art has been exhibited at New Orleans’ Contemporary Arts Center and galleries in New Orleans, Virginia and the UK.
